Hand-coded websites that mean business.

Tallahassee's only fully hand-coded web shop. We build sub-second sites in pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — lighter, faster, and cheaper to maintain than any CMS. One developer. One flat fee. Forever.

// Section 01 The Argument

There's a better way to build for small business.

Most small-business websites rely on a CMS, a handful of plugins, and shared hosting. That stack works — but it comes with trade-offs in speed, security, and long-term cost. We offer a leaner alternative.

The CMS Approach
3–10 second loads.

Themes and third-party scripts add up. Page weight grows, load times climb, and Core Web Vitals suffer — which affects how Google ranks you.

Capital City Computing
Sub-second. Every page.

Static HTML. No render-blocking overhead. Your homepage paints in under a second — before most CMS-powered sites finish their handshake.

Plugin Dependencies
More moving parts, more risk.

Every plugin adds a dependency you have to update and trust. The more third-party code in the stack, the larger the surface area for security issues and compatibility breaks.

Capital City Computing
Static. Minimal surface area.

No database, no admin panel, no third-party dependencies. The attack surface of a flat HTML file is the file itself, served read-only from a CDN.

Pricing Reality
Base + plugins + help = $400/mo

Platform fees start low, but they add up. Once you stack hosting, premium plugins, SEO tools, and someone to manage it all, the "affordable" option isn't so affordable.

Capital City Computing
$150/month. Period.

Hosting, security, backups, unlimited content edits, SEO maintenance — the whole stack, one invoice, no surprises. Cancel anytime.

// Section 02 What You Get

Three deliverables. One subscription.

Everything a small business actually needs to win online — bundled, maintained, and priced like a utility bill instead of a luxury good.

01 Design & Code

A site you actually own.

Custom design. Hand-written HTML and CSS. No themes. No page builders. Plan A clients receive the source code on delivery. Plan B subscribers earn full code ownership after 18 months.

  • Mobile-first responsive layout
  • WCAG AA accessibility from day one
  • Original artwork & type pairings
  • Source code ownership (Plan A: day 1 · Plan B: 18 mo)
02 Local SEO

Built to be found.

Tallahassee SEO isn't an afterthought — it's structure. Schema markup, Google Business Profile setup, location-anchored content, and Core Web Vitals tuned to outrank your closest competitors.

  • Schema.org markup (LocalBusiness)
  • Google Business Profile setup
  • Local citation cleanup
  • Quarterly ranking reports
03 Hosting & Care

Maintained, not parked.

Hosting, SSL, backups, uptime monitoring, and unlimited copy/image edits. Email the developer directly — your changes are live the same day, not the same quarter.

  • 99.99% uptime, global CDN
  • Daily git-versioned backups
  • Unlimited content edits
  • Direct email to the developer
// Section 03 Side by Side

The price of "cheap." Spelled out.

Run the numbers honestly. The DIY platforms aren't actually cheaper once you add the things they don't include — and the agency route costs more than most local businesses can stomach.

Setup fee $0 $0–$499 $5,000–$15,000
True monthly cost $150 flat $32 base + add-ons $250+ retainer

Source code ownership Day 1 / 18 mo NO sometimes
Third-party dependencies None Platform-managed varies
Edits turnaround Same day DIY 2–6 weeks
Long-term contract None annual 12-month minimum
// Section 04 Pricing

Two ways. No surprise invoices either way.

Pay once and own outright, or roll everything into a flat monthly that includes hosting, edits, and SEO maintenance. Most North Florida businesses pick monthly; both unlock the same code.

// Section 05 The Process

From handshake to launch in two weeks.

No project managers, no Slack channels with seventeen people in them. One developer, four steps, a real launch date written down before we start.

STEP 01

Discovery

A free 30-minute consultation. We talk about what your business actually does, who you're trying to reach, and where your current site is failing you.

Day 0 · Free · No commitment
STEP 02

Design

Three homepage directions, real content, real type. You pick one. We refine. No mood boards, no Figma mazes — actual web pages in your browser.

Days 1–5 · Pick a direction
STEP 03

Build

We hand-code every page. SEO baked in, not bolted on. You see staging links daily. By day 12 your site is faster than your competitor's homepage on a fiber connection.

Days 6–13 · Daily staging links
STEP 04

Launch

DNS cutover, GBP wiring, and a 30-day Lighthouse benchmark on file. Then we watch the rankings climb and ship edits the day you ask for them.

Day 14 · Live & monitored
// Risk Reversal

If it isn't faster, you don't pay.
Plain English.

On launch day, we run a head-to-head Lighthouse audit against your old site and email you the receipts. If our build doesn't beat your old site on every Core Web Vital — Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO — your first three months are free. We've never had to write that check, but the offer's on the table every time.

// Section 06 Common Questions

The catch, spelled out.

Most of these are the same questions every cautious business owner asks before they sign anything. Here are the honest answers.

What if I want to cancel? +
Email us. We transfer your domain back to your registrar and waive any future fees. Plan A (outright) clients already own the source code. Plan B (subscription) clients earn full source code ownership after 18 continuous months — if you cancel before that, the site comes down but your domain and content remain yours. No exit clause, no awkward retention call.
Do I own my domain and content? +
Always. Your domain stays registered in your account, not ours. We just point the DNS records. Plan A clients receive the full source repo on delivery. Plan B subscribers earn code ownership after 18 months of continuous service — at that point the repo is yours outright.
What if I need a change at 9pm on a Tuesday? +
Email the developer directly — that's me, not a ticketing system. Routine copy and image edits go live within 24 hours, usually the same evening. Larger structural changes get a written turnaround date before any work starts.
Can you build a WordPress site if I need one? +
Yes — if your business genuinely requires a CMS with multiple authors, frequent self-service publishing, or a plugin ecosystem, we can build on WordPress. But for most small businesses, we strongly recommend our static approach: it's faster, cheaper to maintain, and has a smaller attack surface. We'll give you an honest assessment of which approach fits your situation best.
What if Capital City Computing stops existing? +
Your site is plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no proprietary platform to disappear. Plan A clients and vested Plan B subscribers (18+ months) already own the source and can host it anywhere: Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, Vercel, your nephew's home server. There is no platform to be locked into, even by us.
Do you do e-commerce, booking, or contact forms? +
Yes — wired to specialized services that do those things well. Stripe Checkout for payments, Cal.com or SimplyBook for appointments, Formspree or our own serverless endpoint for forms. Purpose-built tools instead of all-in-one plugins.
I already have a website. Should I switch? +
Run yours through PageSpeed Insights. If you're scoring under 90 on mobile, your visitors are leaving before your hero image loads, and Google knows. We'll do the audit free and tell you honestly whether a rebuild is worth the spend in your case.
Are you really one developer? +
Yes. That's the entire pitch. You get the same person on the discovery call, in the design, in the code, on the email when something needs fixing. No account managers, no offshore contractors, no "let me check with the team." It's why turnaround is fast and the work is consistent.
// Section 07 Reach Out

Three minutes from a faster site.

Pick the channel that fits. Email is fastest — it goes straight to the developer. The form below is the most thorough; we reply within one business day.

Project Brief

FORM · CCC-CONTACT-01

No autoresponders. A human reads every brief.

Stop renting. Start owning.

If your current site costs more than $150/month, loads slower than one second, or makes you wait six weeks for a copy change — we should talk this week.
